Ex-NY Daily News editor, CMU journalism chair James Wieghart, 76, dies
CLARE — Former New York Daily News editor and Central Michigan University journalism chairman James Wieghart (WEE’-hart) has died. He was 76. The university says Wieghart died Sunday morning at Clare Hospital after treatment for pneumonia.

Tennis: Newport News’ Harris earns girls 16s title at W&M indoor event
Shelby Harris of Newport News won the girls 16-and-under division at William and Mary Junior Winter Series No. 6 tournament. Harris, a Hampton Roads Academy standout, won three matches on McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center’s indoor hard courts without losing a set.
